"Summerstock" - CTW's Summer Theatre Program
Summer is the highlight of the year at CTW! "Normally" we produce three Main Stage productions as well as our traditional workshop productions. THIS YEAR HOWEVER...NOTHING IS NORMAL! But it's ok, because are THRILLED and THANKFUL to be back and doing theater with the kids in any capacity that we can. We will not be holding any workshop classes but, we will host our traditional, MainStage/two-week sessions; one for ELEMENTARY, one for MIDDLE SCHOOL and one for HIGH SCHOOL. All performances will be held outdoors at the Wilmington Methodist Church. Here is our Summerstock 2021 Calendar. We look forward seeing you this summer!

Session I June 28-July 10
ELEMENTARY "Peter Pan"
This two week session is always a hit for our elementary kids. The session runs Mon-Fri from 9:00-4:00. We play games, learn about theatre and stage space, practice dances, rehearse lines, practice for the show and put on a FANTASTIC performance of "Peter Pan". (Singing? It's a "maybe" depending on COVID regs at that time) We will limit this session to 15-20 kids for COVID safety. We will have 3-4 counselors working giving us a 1:5 ratio so we can do small group work. The most important thing is to get the kids out and having fun again while learning about the wonderful world of theater! This one is always a hit with our elementary kids.
Director:Julia Burke Assistant Directors: Kyra Walsh & Connor Mangan Open to Grades 2-5. (1st graders are allowed at directors discretion. Please email to discuss.) Session runs M-F from 9:00-4:00. No class July 5th. (4th of July Federal Holiday). Final performances are Friday July 9 & Saturday July 10. Cost: $450 for two weeks. (EARLY BIRD Register by May 15th cost is $400. Non-refundable half payment is due by May 15 to receive the discount) Note: Students are required to bring their own lunch and snack. There is staff lunch coverage and we use the time as a "rest and relax" time.
Session II July 12- July 24
MIDDLE SCHOOL "The Wizard of Oz "
This magical family classic is sure to be a big hit with our middle schoolers. Lots of parts! We play games, learn about theatre and stage space, practice dances, rehearse lines, practice for the show and put on a FANTASTIC performance of "The Wizard of Oz". (Singing? It's a "maybe" depending on COVID regs at that time. We are hoping that with this session going up in mid July we will be able to add singing. ) We will limit this session to 15-20 kids for COVID safety. We will have 3-4 counselors working giving us a 1:5 ratio so we can do small group work. This is a full main stage production. Students will have a fun, high energy experience as they learn the dances, lines and songs all in two weeks! We are performance ready by opening night (the Friday of the second week)

HIGH SCHOOL Main Stage "TBD"
Here's the deal gang...I am "hoping" to stage a small musical by this time but I need to keep and eye on the COVID Regulations. (singing not permitted without strict regulations at the moment). I have some good ideas for both a play (or perhaps scenes & monologues?) and some good ideas for a musical but I need to do a survey with you for interest. Stay tuned!
